High Pressure PU Machine — Overview

A high pressure PU foaming machine mixes polyol and isocyanate by impingement at roughly 100–200 bar inside a self-cleaning mixing head, so it needs no solvent flush and delivers fast, high-output polyurethane foaming. It handles both rigid and flexible foam equally well — rigid insulation (sandwich panels, refrigerators, freezers, water heaters, continuous panel lines) and molded flexible or semi-rigid foam (car seats, cushions, memory-foam pillows and integral-skin parts) — with the right formulation, mixing head and mould.

Because the self-cleaning head opens and closes mechanically, a high pressure PU foaming machine runs long production cycles with minimal waste and consistent foam density. Yongjia builds high pressure PU machines with two- or three-component metering, configurable output, day tanks and automation to match your product, line speed and mould size, with OEM/ODM and CE support — as a China manufacturer since 2006, exported to 60+ countries.

How It Works

A high pressure PU machine mixes polyol and isocyanate by impingement — no mechanical stirrer and no solvent flush — then injects the reacting blend into a mould or panel cavity.

How a Polyurethane Foam Machine Actually Works - Two Liquids In, Foam Out
1
MeteringHigh-pressure piston pumps draw polyol and isocyanate from heated day tanks and dose them to the exact set ratio.
2
Impingement mixingThe two streams collide inside the self-cleaning mixing head at 10–20 MPa and mix instantly, without a stirrer or solvent.
3
InjectionThe mixed polyurethane is shot into the mould, panel cavity or fixture in a precisely timed pour.
4
Reaction & riseThe blend reacts and expands into rigid, semi-rigid or flexible foam, then cures to the target density.
5
Self-cleanA cleaning piston clears the head after each shot, so the machine runs long cycles with minimal waste and no solvent flushing.

High Pressure Machine Types

Choose the build that matches your formula and blowing agent — two-component, multi-component or a cyclopentane explosion-proof system.

Two-Component (2K)
Two-Component (2K)Polyol + isocyanateImpingement-mixes polyol and isocyanate in two high-pressure streams — the standard build for rigid and flexible high-output foam such as sandwich panels, water heaters, seats and cushions. Self-cleaning head, no solvent flush, 90–450 kg/min.
Multi-Component (3-Component)
Multi-Component (3-Component)Extra additive streamAdds a third independently metered stream for color, catalyst or a second polyol / additive alongside the two main components — for colored, filled or dual-formula rigid foam where the recipe needs an extra dosed line.
Cyclopentane System
Cyclopentane SystemExplosion-proof · eco blowing agentA high-pressure machine engineered for cyclopentane, a low-GWP, zero-ODP hydrocarbon blowing agent used in refrigerator, freezer and cold-room insulation. Built with explosion-proof (Ex-rated) components, cyclopentane pre-mixing and safety systems for compliant, eco-friendly rigid foam.

High Pressure vs Low Pressure

Not sure which fits your product? High pressure suits high-output, stable-formula production of both rigid and molded flexible foam; low pressure suits small batches and frequent formula or color changes. The right choice also depends on your output, mould count and automation level.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a high pressure PU machine?
It is a polyurethane dosing machine that mixes components by high-pressure impingement (about 100–200 bar) in a self-cleaning head, producing rigid or semi-rigid foam at high output without solvent flushing.
What is the difference between high pressure and low pressure PU machines?
High pressure uses impingement mixing, no solvent flush and high output—ideal for rigid insulation. A low pressure PU foaming machine mixes mechanically, costs less and suits flexible molded foam and frequent color changes.
What products is a high pressure PU machine used for?
Insulated sandwich panels, refrigerators and freezers, water heaters, cold-room panels and continuous rigid-foam panel lines.
How many components and what output does it support?
Two- and three-component versions are available, with output, tank capacity, number of heads and automation all sized to your panel dimensions and line speed.
Can it be customized, and what is the MOQ and lead time?
Yes—output, mixing head, day tanks and automation are configurable, with OEM/ODM and CE support. Share your product and volume for an exact quote and lead time.
